A Poet Said

I took the Quiet Road
Oh! So many miles ago;
I'll wait out the storm,
here where it's warm,
and shelter you with my smile.

Airplanes come and trains go by
and cycles whistle past me,
Sometimes I'll run to catch the bus
of chaos and the buzz;
Hang on to the railing,
cool breezes, I'm sailing,
if only for a while.

Here I'll stop, here I'll rest,
or there by the lilac scent;
Do Not Go Gentle, the poet said,
but it couldn't have been me
he meant.

I do feel sheltered in your smile.

And how can a person be so gentle, and not go gently? It's one of your beautiful mysteries.

A sense of belonging, a feeling of contentedness, and a spirit of adventure all peek through the lines of this verse.

is it the poet's
path to ponder pieces of
perception apart?

I think it is our "roles" as poets to disect what we see in art and put it into beautiful words, where else do we gain our inspiration from? Lovely words x

You are gifted and I am happy that you share your beautiful words here. This is my second visit to your site. You cause me pause to reflect as I have a daughter with Lupus and she is my 'Angel'. You are strong like my daughter as I know you need to be. Thank You!
